Bob Chandler is the regional Head in Ernst & Young’s
Fraud Investigation
& Dispute Services (FIDS) practice in the Middle East. Prior to joining Ernst
& Young, Bob worked for 21 years post-qualification with another Big 4 firm.
He moved from the UK to the Middle East in 1999 and was responsible for setting
up that other firm’s investigations and disputes arm. When in the UK, he spent two
years seconded to the Investigations Division of the UK Department of Trade and
Industry (DTI) and was later appointed as a Companies Act Inspector in respect of
a UK bank in administration. The resulting report was subsequently published by
the DTI.Bob has over 20 years experience of providing businesses with FIDS services
during which time he has carried out numerous fraud investigations
and given evidence
(including oral evidence and expert testimony) at trial. He has also acted as accounting
expert, and as arbitrator, in various arbitrations involving the quantification
of financial losses. In addition, he has undertaken a number of regulatory investigations
involving issues of fraud and money laundering.
